Formatting phrases for a lesson.

Use a source-only list when you want Words Atlas to generate translations. Use paired columns when you already have the translations.

Source phrases only

Put one phrase on each line. Every complete line is treated as one phrase, so commas are safe with or without quotes.

Words Atlas removes the surrounding quotes and generates every target-language phrase when the unit is published.

Use two columns: source and target. If either sentence contains a comma, wrap that entire cell in double quotes.

You can also paste two columns directly from Excel or Google Sheets. Tabs between columns are recognised automatically.

A header row is optional.
Blank lines are ignored.
For paired CSV, commas inside a sentence require surrounding double quotes.
To include a literal double quote inside a quoted CSV field, write it twice: "".
An optional third column can contain alternative correct answers separated with semicolons.
Each import can contain up to 100 phrases.
